Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital is a Level 5 facility, established in 2011 and officially opened in 2013, serving as the primary county referral hospital for Nairobi’s Eastlands region.

Named in honour of former First Lady Lucy Kibaki, the hospital was created to meet the growing demand for quality healthcare and to ease pressure on major referral centres. Located between Umoja II and Komarock in Embakasi, the hospital now serves a catchment population of over 2.25 million people. Over the years, it has expanded significantly, including the development of a modern 66-bed maternity wing with ICU and HDU units, installation of advanced diagnostic equipment such as a 128-slice CT scanner, and continuous upgrading of its Accident & Emergency services with round-the-clock emergency care and advanced life-support ambulances. Today, Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital provides comprehensive outpatient, inpatient, maternity, paediatric, surgical and diagnostic services, cementing its role as a critical healthcare hub and a key pillar in improving health outcomes for communities across Nairobi.Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital is a level-5 Hospital located in the City of Nairobi’s populous Embakasi Constituency.  Its precise location is between Umoja-II and Komarock Estates 11KM East of the city centre at the junction of Kangundo road and Kayole Spine road.  The area is mainly residential and has numerous informal settlements.
