ICU WING, RENAL UNIT, SATELLITE BLOOD BANK AND CHILDREN’S PLAY GROUND LAUNCH AND COMMISSIONING

Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital, located in Nairobi, Kenya, has recently undergone a significant transformation with the commissioning of an ICU, renal wing, children’s playground, and the launch of a satellite blood bank. The commissioning ceremony was presided over by His Excellency Governor Johnson Sakaja and the Cabinet Secretary of Health, Miss Susan Nakhumicha, accompanied by Tharakanithi’s Governor His Excellency Onesmas Muthoni Njuki. The new developments are set to improve the quality of healthcare services offered by the hospital and positively impact the lives of patients.

The ICU is a vital addition to the Hospital, as it will enable the hospital to provide critical care services to patients who require intensive monitoring, treatment, and management. The ICU is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, including ventilators, monitors, and advanced medication management systems, to ensure that patients receive the best care possible. The addition of the renal wing is also a significant milestone for the Hospital, as it will provide essential services to patients suffering from kidney-related diseases, including dialysis and kidney transplants.

In addition to the ICU and renal wing, Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital has also launched a children’s playground, which is designed to provide a space for children to play and relax while they receive treatment. The playground is equipped with a variety of play equipment, including swings, slides, and climbing frames, and will provide a welcome distraction for children who are undergoing treatment. This addition will undoubtedly improve the quality of life for children and their families during their hospital stay.

The launch of the blood bank is also a significant milestone for Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital, as it will enable the hospital to provide life-saving blood transfusions to patients who require them. The blood bank will be responsible for collecting and storing blood, testing it for transfusion-transmissible infections, and distributing it to patients in need. The availability of a blood bank at the Hospital will save lives and positively impact the health of patients.

The commissioning ceremony was attended by various dignitaries, including the Board of management, the hospital’s management team, medical professionals, and community leaders. His Excellency Governor Johnson Sakaja praised the hospital’s management team for their commitment to improving healthcare services in the region, and he urged other hospitals to follow in Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital’s footsteps. Miss Susan Nakhumicha also commended the hospital for its efforts to improve the health and well-being of the community, and she encouraged the hospital to continue its mission of providing quality healthcare services to all patients.

In conclusion, the commissioning of an ICU, renal wing, and children’s playground, and the launch of a blood bank at Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital is a significant milestone for the hospital and the community it serves.
